GREEN MOUNTAIN PLAZA

About the Shopping Center

On high-profile State Route 7 near the intersection with State Route 4, Green Mountain Plaza is a 187,000-square-foot multi-use shopping center in Rutland, Vermont's third largest city. In the thick of a regional trade area in the Green Mountains, the 21-acre plaza features a mix of nationally recognized retailers, including Hannaford, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Michael’s, JoAnn, Staples and Petco. More than 23,000 vehicles travel along Route 7 daily; 50,000 consumers live within a 15-mile radius of the center.

About Rutland

Once a thriving center of commerce for the granite and railroad industries, Rutland is home to a growing number of entrepreneurs and remote workers who gather at The Hub CoWorks, a 24,000-square-foot co-working and event space in the city’s historic downtown. More than 20 hand-painted murals adorn city walls; the Marble Sculpture Trail features twelve statues of influential local figures, including Andrea Mead Lawrence, the first American alpine skier to win two Olympic gold medals.

Situated in the heart of the Green Mountains, Rutland is a gateway to hiking adventures on the 272-mile Long Trail (stretching from the Massachusetts-Vermont border to Canada) and the Appalachian Trail (the 2,190-mile trail extending from Georgia to Maine). Killington Mountain Resort & Ski Area, the biggest ski area in eastern North America, is about 30 minutes from Rutland.

In August, more than 50,000 people attended the Vermont State Fair, a Rutland tradition since 1846, smashing previous records. New Yorkers can easily get to Rutland via the Ethan Allen Express, a daily passenger train operated by Amtrak that departs from Penn Station.
