WATERFORD PLAZA
About the Plaza
Waterford Plaza is a 136,000-square-foot shopping center located in coastal Waterford, Connecticut. Anchored by Stop & Shop, the center sits at the intersection of Boston Post Road (Route 1) and Clark Street, near I-95. Waterford Plaza offers ample parking and proximity to the town’s community park, the Civic Triangle.
About Waterford
Waterford Plaza benefits from its proximity to two of the area’s major employers, General Dynamics, the Groton-based premiere designer and builder of nuclear-powered submarines for the U.S. Navy, and Pfizer Groton, a 2.8 million-square-foot drug research and development facility; together, the companies employ more than 10,000 people.
At the Submarine Force Library and Museum, on the Thames River in Groton, visitors can tour the 319-foot-long USS Nautilus, the world's first nuclear-powered submarine and the first vessel to go to the North Pole. Harkness Memorial State Park, featuring a 42-room Renaissance Revival Mansion (Eolia), rolling lawns and lush gardens on Long Island Sound in Waterford, draws a quarter million visitors a year.
